On January 31, 2010, I wrote this in my journal:
Oh Dear God! This snap in my hamstring and the pain that comes with it can be so discouraging! (I have been recovering from surgery that reconstructed my ACL from a piece of my hamstring.) I want to heal quickly so I'm ready to go back and help with the wedding! (My daughter is getting married soon!) But I can be sure that whatever is happening is from You, and You know what is best for me. You remain faithful to who You are. Help me to trust in You and not let fear or dread overwhelm me.
(At this point I stopped writing and went to find hymn lyrics on the web so I could sing.)
Thank You for giving me a hymn today! I wanted to sing as part of my worship - I'm sitting home alone this Sunday morning...sad I couldn't go to church because of my hamstring snapping. So I went online to fnid lyrics to a hymn to sing. One of the "most popular" listed was "Have Thine Own Way." That is what I wanted to pray for myself today, so I clicked on it and sang it.
Here is verse #3: "Have Thine own way, Lord, Have Thine own way! Wounded and weary, help me I pray! Power, all power, surely is Thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine."
What a personal gift to me!!! Now I know why my hamstring popped yesterday! ...to keep me here this morning so I could receive a personal gift from You in my time of worship!!! THANK YOU, LORD!!! :)
